The AFC Way
Our Philosophy

The AFC Way

More than a football club — a pathway, a philosophy and a community built to develop players and people for the long term.

The AFC Way is our commitment to developing every player — from their first kick at our Development Centre to competitive senior football. It's a culture built on community, ambition, inclusion and long-term personal development both on and off the pitch.

Progression

Our Club Pathway

01

Development Centre

First touches, fun and friendship. Foundation-phase football for our youngest wolves.

02

Youth Teams (U7–U15)

Structured competitive football in the Walsall Junior Youth League, developing skills and game understanding.

03

MJPL (U8, U10, U18)

Our elite youth sides competing in the Midland Junior Premier League — the highest level of youth football at the club.

04

Senior Football

First Team, Sundays, Women and Veterans — carrying the Wolves badge into adult competition.

Growth

Player Development Model

Technical

Ball mastery, passing, dribbling, shooting and decision-making — developed progressively through every age group.

Physical

Age-appropriate athletic development — coordination, agility, speed and stamina built safely over time.

Social

Teamwork, communication, respect and resilience — football as a vehicle for building good people, not just good players.

Psychological

Confidence, focus, game understanding and the mental tools to thrive under pressure and bounce back from setbacks.

What We Stand For

Community Values

Community First

As a CIC, everything we do reinvests into our community. Football is our vehicle for positive change.

Safe & Inclusive

Every player, parent and volunteer deserves a safe, welcoming environment. Safeguarding is our highest priority.

Ambition

We aim high — for our players, our teams and our club. Grassroots doesn't mean low standards.

One Pack

From Mini Wolves to Veterans, we are one club. Every team supports every other team.

Our Vision

To build a football club that develops not just talented players, but confident, respectful and resilient young people. A club where every player — regardless of ability, background or ambition — finds a place to grow, belong and succeed.

From the Development Centre through to our Veterans side, The AFC Way means progression with purpose, community at heart, and a relentless commitment to doing things the right way.
